SPARCing Better Recreation and Parks programs in Alberta

Client: Alberta Recreation & Parks Association - SPARC

Project: Videos that highlight Inclusion, Collaboration, and Positive Youth Development
Brant Mental Health Solutions

This year, we visited #Edmonton in February (🥶🌨️☃️) where the super smart, super athletic folks at Alberta Recreation & Parks Association's SPARC program showed us how they are making recreation programming better for people with disabilities and their families, and the innovative sport programs that foster resiliency through social skills development in youth.

This video series features the people behind these Alberta initiatives.

INCLUSION

First, we stopped into the Steadward Centre at The University of Alberta to see the athletes benefitting from inclusive programming and to hear Dr. Jen Leo's tips for how we can all help include people of all abilities. #inclusion

INNOVATION & COLLABORATION

Recreation professionals joined SPARC staff both virtually and in person to explain how they are innovating and collaborating in recreation and sports programming and we edited their material into a video to share at their sprint conference. #innovation #collaboration
